Stage Fright

The experience of performance: the grandness, the exhilaration, the fear that comes with being watched by a faceless audience.

I’ve played piano for as long as I can remember, and the bond I feel with the instrument is indescribable; there’s nothing like letting myself float away to some different state of being, lost in the sound. I wanted to use the double image of the keys forming the face to show the contrast and harmony between that sort of spirituality and the performance anxiety I experience when playing on the stage – how they melt into something so exhilarating, so fantastic.
